Get ready for...the FINAL version of yellow! I'm so excited about these photos. I'm excited because they turned out GREAT (thanks to my amazing model, Anya) and because I got a new photo editor! So far, Luminar is working like a dream. I accidentally forgot to apply my discount code before buying it...but hopefully we can resolve that soon. Anyway, because I'm hyped, here's the photos. I intended for all these to be up by June, so I could continue with the Summer Color Project, but better now than never! I'm excited to start working on some of the final Color themed shoots (keep an eye out for green and blue!) and it's making me realize, summer is coming to a close. Will you miss summer? Also, question: If you guys have favorite quotes, DM me or comment! They can be anything that made you think or appreciate something about life. About the Yellow theme: I know yellow is considered cliché, and associated with happiness. Why do I like yellow? And I'll have to admit, I love happy colors, but there's something about Yellow that's different than orange and red and white. My favorite way to imagine yellow is a yellow umbrella or raincoat on a dark, rainy day. Darkness makes the yellow shine brighter. Did you know that we will never be able to see a true color for unless it's next to its complete opposite? Because all colors exist in cohesion with other colors, those colors affect the way we see one particular color--for instance, if you see yellow next to white, your eye percieves it as brighter, or if it's next to black, darker--than it really is. So if we didn't have opposites, we wouldn't appreciate the colors for what they are. Categories

yellow//nature//anyaI'm trying to define a theme for my blog posts. Well, for my business in general--I want a theme to it, I want things to be organized. I like describing, and I like stories. Have you heard of flash fiction? it's a story written in a few words. Moments flash by, and pictures are flashes of moments, and words are flashes of stories. The story behind this shoot: This is part one of two sessions. We based the shoot on the color yellow, and we experimented with how yellow would look against a natural background and an urban background! Here's some highlights of part 1--nature. Some things Anya reminds me of:
-smiling -summer -when sun beams through the clouds and creates those rays -friends holding hands -kind words -someone to love -confetti and colorful sprinkles -singing this was definitely the most fun I've had preparing for a photoshoot and it was amazing to see all of our work to come together! I can't wait for more. :) Thank you so much Anya! PS-Stay tuned for Part 2! I'm going to try to have the second gallery uploaded by next week! (That one's the urban edition). I'm having some trouble with my editor right now, so please pray it gets replaced soon:) -priscilla |
