Going to try a more down-to-earth writing style for this one. Earth=green. Green photoshoot? Ok no, that's too confusing. But anyway, here's some BTS from the shoot last Friday. It's not part of the official Green galleries, but if you're interested I'll tell you 3 funny things. 1. After months of planning, I was hyped to think the shoot was THIS very week. (Note to all you who want a shoot--when you contact your photographer, please have a date in mind. It helps so much.) I was even more hyped because we had gr e e n flowers. It was gonna be perfect. We had green-dyed carnations and even better, they'd stuck around for a whole week without wilting. And...the day before the shoot, my mom threw them in the garbage. My poor flowers. But that's okay, because we got a leaf crown out of it. I sewed some black thread through a ring of leaves, and voilá, authentic fairytale leaf crown. 2. In desperation because of the loss of my flowers, I scoured the house for extra props. Hannah and I vetoed the idea of limes, because we wanted the theme to be moody (because it was in a forest before dark) and limes just don't fit that. For some reason, I thought a rayon black scarf would be the perfect moody addition. Of everything, I think I failed the scarf idea. But it was still fun to flap around, and we got some good pictures. 3. Also during my panicked scouring, I located several World Encyclopedia books. Perfect, I thought. We dragged them up the hill, where Hannah and I took turns reading during golden hour. We found the history of Christianity, reproduction, riddles. Encyclopedias are so random. I'm happy I thought of them, though, because it turns out Hannah's a natural for reading books by a tree. And there we are! Behind the Scenes and behind the story. There's nothing like meeting a new person, and don't forget to put Hannah on your list of photogs to follow. You won't be dissapointed.

It is now time.Welcome to the long-in-coming "Green" gallery. If you want to visit these pictures outside of my story, here they are! Hannah did a fantastic job of modeling for the Green shoot. I wanted a woodland-fairy inspired setting, and the pictures came out perfect for it! She was a natural. Did you know that Hannah has her own photography page, too? You should follow it--@chattshotsbyhan. Not only was she an excellent model, but a great photographer for me as well! If you want fast service, a friendly photographer, and quality photos, DM her! Now I've got to consider what I like about green. Yellow is a natural happy color. Yellow has so many reasons for you to like it. If colors were people, I'm sure Yellow would be the extroverted girl you can always count on for a smile. What does Green mean, though? A few years ago, I lived in a house with a mini forest in the backyard. It was impossible to go into it--too much poison ivy--but it was beautiful to look out the windows at. My father said that the green color of trees is known to help people calm down and even prevent heart attack (?) It was years ago, so I don't remember, but it's true--there's something undeniably calming about the color green. Green is: calm. It reminds you of shady forests and prisms of light filtering through the leaves.
Would fall be the same without green stems on apples and pumpkins? Would winter be winter without snow-dusted evergreens? And spring. Green is the color of grass after winter. Green is the first sign of new tulips and irises. Because before you have flowers, you have the plants: green and full of life. So for every season, you always have a little bit of green. As we say goodbye to summer, we can visit the memory of fields and leaf crowns captured in photographs. |
